Our Story
Originally called The Tax Man, Ken Oase's business got a big boost 30 years ago when the Tucson Citizen sent an undercover reporter to his house to have his taxes prepared. The reporter compared Ken with three other accountants. The article entitled "Nothing's Certain Except Death, Not Even Taxes" , showed the returns with vastly different results. Not only did the other preparers get the amount of taxes owed wrong, but their preparation fees were much higher.
At age 16, David Oase received his first computer - the IBM Datamaster (before the PC was popular) - it was only for preparing tax returns. During summer break, David started helping his dad's accounting business by writing a whole new bookkeeping program for the Datamaster. David worked alongside Ken until he passed in 2016.
David Oase

David is an army brat who living in Tucson in 1st and 2nd grade before moving to Tennessee. He returned in 1985 and graduated from the University of Arizona. He became a CPA in 1993 just after joining the firm. In his spare time he like to visit caves all over the country. He paints miniatures and crafts terrain for the "kids" Dungeons and Dragon type games. He has also filmed over 100 sermons and cave events.
Katrina Jean-Oase
Legal Document Preparer, Paralegal
Katrina was born and raised in Taiwan, she came to Tucson and received her Bachelors at the University of Arizona. Katrina bought and sold real estate while raising her two daughters. In 2011 she received her Paralegal and LDP certification in Arizona. She provides Wills, Trusts and Deeds for her clients and can often be seen around the office. At home she cares for her 3 rescue dogs, gardens and reads business books for fun.
Chad Denson
From the picturesque hills of Vail, Colorado, Chad has traded in his cowboy boots for balance sheets, but he never left his adventurous spirit behind! A proud graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in accounting, Chad brings a unique flair to the numbers game.
Growing up, he was a performance quarter horse rider, hitting the trails by day and carving up the slopes on weekends. When he wasn’t skiing or working as a river guide on the mighty Colorado River, you could find him four-wheeling through mining roads with family and friends in his trusty Land Cruiser.
Now in Tucson, Chad pours his heart into community service as a dynamic leader with Rotary International and has made his mark on several boards, including the Arivaca Internet Utility Cooperative and the Tucson LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
When he's not crunching numbers, you’ll find him cheering for his beloved Arizona Wildcats, enjoying the company of his loyal German Shepherds—who sometimes join him at the office—or supporting his son’s martial arts journey. Chad loves camping, restoring his classic Land Cruiser, and exploring the world with his partner, proving that even accountants can have thrilling adventures!
Lucy Acedo
Office Manager
Lucy is the first person you will meet at our office. Whether calling in or walking in the door. You can see her Hello Kitty collection on her desk. She was born in Tucson and enjoys all the Sonoran Desert has to offer. In her free time she can be found hiking Seven Falls or Tumamoc Hill or indoors enjoying a fitness class. In the evenings she enjoys cutting the rug at one of Tucson's many Latin dance venues.
Mae Mendoza-Pacia

Mae Mendoza-Pacia is a proud graduate of Tarlac State University, bringing dedication, creativity, and passion to everything she does. Her professional approach is grounded in focus and determination, complemented by her ability to find joy and balance in the little things.
A self-proclaimed coffee lover, Mae starts every day with her favorite brew, fueling her enthusiasm for work and life. Outside of her professional life, Mae enjoys spending time with her three beloved dogs, including her newest sassy shih tzu, Chica. For Mae, peace and quiet often involve cuddling with her dogs, working on 1,000-piece puzzles, or creating diamond and number paintings—all while sipping coffee, of course.
Mae is also an avid fan of crime documentaries and TV series, often pairing her love of storytelling with her passion for music and singing. When it’s time to relax, she enjoys playing farming and restaurant simulation games on her Nintendo Switch or phone.
Weekends are sacred for Mae, dedicated to family bonding. Whether catching up over a meal or sharing laughter and stories, family time is her cornerstone for recharging and staying connected.

Jean graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Saint Louis University in 2018 and has been dedicated to delivering precise and insightful financial solutions ever since. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers, Jean combines technical expertise with creativity, making every challenge an opportunity to excel.
Outside of work, Jean's world is filled with vibrant energy and love for life. A proud pet parent to an impressive pack of dogs and cats, Jean finds joy in caring for animals with names as unique as their personalities, from Guardian and Loki to Theo and Summer.
When Jean isn’t busy with pets, you’ll likely find her on a road trip with her fiancé, playing volleyball or badminton, indulging in mobile games, or binge-watching Korean dramas. An avid foodie, Jean loves exploring restaurants to try their best-selling dishes, with eating as her ultimate stress reliever.
Jean also brings her artistic flair to life through meticulously painting her nails—a passion that’s as essential as her morning coffee. Coming from a family of musicians, Jean contributes her voice as both a vocalist and a member of her church choir, blending harmony and community into her everyday life.

Vanessa is an experienced Client Excellence Coordinator with over ten years of expertise in sales and team management. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, she has honed her skills in management roles, consistently handling and coordinating teams to deliver exceptional results. Her commitment to efficiency and creating a better work-life balance for both herself and her team is a driving force behind her success.
Outside of her professional life, Vanessa is passionate about weightlifting and has recently developed an interest in plant care, including succulents, cacti, and orchids. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Arizona's lakes for kayaking and paddleboarding, and practicing life skills such as sewing.
Though she doesn’t have children of her own, Vanessa shares a strong bond with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Together, they enjoy camping trips and seeking out new adventures and activities. Her loyal cat, Kitty, has been by her side for over five years, offering companionship in her day-to-day life.

Kram Monang
Kramned Charles Monang—known simply as Kram—is a dedicated bookkeeper with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Saint Louis University. He thrives on precision, structure, and the challenge of navigating complex financial situations. Kram takes pride in helping clients find clarity and confidence in their financial records.
Outside of work, Kram lives an adventurous, hands-on lifestyle. He’s passionate about basketball, camping and outdoor activities. A proud pet parent to a lively pack of dogs, he enjoys long walks with them and spontaneous road trips—especially with his favorite travel companion. One of his most memorable trips was an 8-hour drive to Ilocos Norte to enjoy its white sandy beaches.
In his free time, Kram also practices welding and carpentry, further reflecting his love for building and fixing things—whether it’s in spreadsheets or real life.
